The Father’s Favour

Father, You are righteous and just, perfect and holy. You are without beginning, without end. There is no measuring of Your days for You flow endlessly like a mighty river rushing into the ocean. You are the Creator who is uncontainable just as the oceans would not be contained had You not drawn a line in the sand and said, ‘this far and no farther shall you come.” Your spoken words set the tides in motion, the moon to wax and wane and the sun to give us light, life and warmth.A place provided

Would you trust Him fully beloved and live in surrendered obedience to His Majesty? He has plans for you that are good. You have heard for years that He has plans to give you a hope for your future and plans to prosper you and cause you to bear fruit.

Don’t be complacent with the word of truth. Lean hard into Him when your circumstances appear to contradict His word of promise. Your circumstances will change, His word will not.

If you would join Him at the river and experience His indwelling presence and power, your roots shall grow deep. Difficult news shall not shake you nor shall calamity strike you down before your time. Instead, you shall bear fruit and bring forth that fruit in its season at the right time.

Be mindful, beloved of our God and His ability and desire to teach you and lead you in the way He intends for you to go. Do not be stubborn like the mule; instead be pliable and trusting in His hands. You always have the choice to follow or not, but it is there in that sanctified purpose where He enables you to get wealth.

Wealth is not always the currency of our day. It may be golden treasures from His word, a supernatural ability to lean your entire being upon Him. His plan is to go before you making crooked places straight and opening doors for you with just a whisper and a breath. His favour on your life is greater than gold.

He knows your way beloved. He knows your rising and your sitting. He fully understands and discerns your thoughts. He knows why you do what you do and why you think and feel a particular way. We can hide nothing from Him.

His word, more powerful and precise than a lightning bolt will divide your soul and spirit; piercing and separating your joints from the marrow and all of you lays bare and open to Him.

Never fear the division of the word for it brings us into alignment with Him.

In the piercing and dividing, He gives you clarity and wisdom as He positions and aligns you with His purposes and plans. Your spirit, soul and body will synchronize with the thoughts and intents of His heart. His word will be alive in you even as Jesus lives within you and the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead shall quicken your mortal body to the abundant life He has promised.

This is fruit bearing beloved. This is why we must allow the Gardener to shape us as He prunes our dead and straggling branches. There is great beauty in the pruning so never run cringing in fear from the shears.
He is creating in you a work that will bring Him much glory, honor and praise. He loves you beloved with a fierce and jealous love and He wants all of you. He loves you and His blessing is upon you, surrounding you with favour as a shield protects a warrior.

Go forth in peace and joy, flow in the mighty stream of love. You will be a light of hope to those who are walking in darkness simply because He lives within you and nothing can hide the light of His presence in you.

Your Redeemer walks with you and there is hope for redemption for all.

Whoa to Self

My eyes pick up spelling mistakes without even planning to look for them.  Spelling mistakes seem to be like magnets to my eyes… On her Facebook status, I am sure she did not mean to make the mistake and she probably had no idea she had even made one.  Even less would she have any idea how her mistake affected my heart.

She meant to say ‘woe’ but instead she spelled it ‘whoa’.

I saw the mistake right when I am thinking about Beckoned by the King’s question:

Where would you say is the hardest area for you to maintain the joy of the Lord?  What will you do to see change come about in that area?

Her spelling mistake became my answer.  Whoa to me.  I must learn to say “whoa” to that ugly part of my nature that rises up and

I fall.

You see, falling, for me is when the fruit of beautiful self-control is pushed off the table…by impatience and anger.

I end up feeling so ashamed and unworthy, too hard headed and stubborn to immediately bend low…

Anger has edged out peace; impatience is shoving long-suffering to the edge,Continue Reading

Hope Bears Fruit

I have to admit to being distracted lately. I wanted to use this summer to go through the Bible study questions in Beckoned by the King and it is already the end of August and I am only on chapter two.

God is up to something in me though so I am just going with it!

This chapter includes Psalm 119: 1-16 ~ “Beth” which is all about keeping our temples pure and holy.

Psalm 119: 1 How can a young man keep his way pure?  By keeping it according to Your Word.

Psalm 119: 14  I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches.

Even in my feelings of distraction I am considering and answering the question,

“How much importance do you place in keeping a regular time where you draw away just to spend time with the Lord?  Have you created a special place to spend time with Him and do you frequently meet with Him there?”

I do have a special room at home that is mine. Set apart just for study and soaking, praises and prayer.  But I haven’t been spending much time in there lately.  My feelings of distraction have been unsettling. It has been hard to sit still, hard really to accomplish anything and it blesses my heart to understand that HOPE has been busy replacing fear and dread.

I realized the other day that HOPE has distracted me.  HOPE. A word so nebulous and hard to describe, a word that is not a physical substance, yet something we can hold onto, and experience a soaring in our hearts because we will not let go of HOPE.

That “C” word can suck the life right out of you and I know many of you are all too familiar with that feeling.  Something stronger than the sucking rises up though and in my spirit I hear,

“hope thou in God my soul, hope thou in God!”

And it makes me laugh because I don’t even read the King James Version, nor do I think that way.  However, somewhere I read it in the KJV and that is how the Holy Spirit brings it back to my remembrance.  I begin to remember and speak out the promises of God. The atmosphere in my heart undergoes a change.

I go to the backyard to pick my raspberries and He speaks to me there by the prickly bushes. Up close, my bushes don’t seem to be yielding much fruit.  Up close, standing straight the berries are hard to see.

He whispers to my heart to remember what He spoke to me last year.

Those words thunder in my heart and I know…I know the comfort and strength of His presence.  I know the reality of Emmanuel, God with me.  He is pure love and grace all mixed into Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty.  Love and grace covering us with mercy and loving-kindness, the oil of joy poured out to replace sadness and the garment of praise as He removes the cloak of heaviness.

His words ring loud in my ears,

“I have brooded over you as a mother hen broods over her chicks.  I have busied Myself with your every need; I have delighted in fulfilling the desires of your heart.  I have shown you my care and faithfulness.

I have brooded over you.  I have protected you from harm.  I have been your place of refuge, safety and rest.  I have brooded over you and have watched over you as you grew.  I know the measure of your stature, the growing love within your heart.

You are Mine forever, the commitment of My love for you is shown by My nail scarred hands and feet.  Never doubt My love. My love for you held me upon the Cross – My blood ran down for you.

I have brooded over you; I love to satisfy your every need.  You have brought your needs to Me and I have given you fresh water and manna as you come. You have fed on Me and found Me faithful.

I know your circumstances have been difficult.   I have set you and your experiences apart, in order that My purposes for you and My character are formed in you.  Choose to delight yourself in Me and I will give you the desires of your heart.

Bend low

Lift your gaze – do you see Me?

I am the Vine; you are one of these branches.  One branch connected to another, all connected to Me.

Bend low, bend lower still

Lift your gaze – do you see Me?”

Yes I do! I see You standing over, reaching down.  The wind of Your breath rustles the branches.

Rustles me, rustles my heart

I bend low, Your wind blows the branches and they bend.  The leaves blow back, the fruit that was hidden is now in clear sight.

The fruit remains and ripenedSC_0819

I see fruit in places I couldn’t see before!  These branches, my branch seemed so sparse at the start of the season.  Leaves have grown.  The ripened fruit has not dropped to the ground.

The wind, rain and storms have battered this bush; the fruit has remained, ripening in the heat of the sun.

Hidden from view as I stand and look long, I hear You say,

“Bend low, lift your gaze.  Bend low, your fruit has ripened.  Bend low, your fruit has matured throughout the storms.

My word has watered and strengthened your soul so the fruit you bear would withstand the force of the storms.

You have bent low, clung to Me, found the essence of your life in Me.

You are coming out of the wilderness, strong, leaning on your Beloved.

Lift your gaze; see the fullness of My love and goodness.”

Beloved, will you seek the face of God with me to discover if there is anything holding you back from experiencing and entering the fullness of His joy?   I have been discovering fear, dread, hopelessness have been trying to take hold in my life.  The Lord has been faithful to shine the light of His Word upon my path and in the discovery there is an uncovering.  Freedom is coming in greater degrees as I allow myself to be covered by His grace and love.

You Reign

You reign O Lord, You reign.

We live in your kingdom O Lord. To you all glory and honor belong. You have been exalted and you are head above all. You are over all, in all, breathing life into all. Breathing life into us. All we have comes from your hand Lord. Riches and honor come from you. All we fill our hands with to bring you is because you have given first to us. Without you, we would have nothing.

You reign over all. You reign over every circumstance and happenstance of life. You reign over the plans we meticulously make. You reign and everything is visible to you. Not a thing happens but you have full knowledge of it beforehand. Nothing takes you by surprise or catches you off guard.

You reign over our lives.  You have chosen to walk with us. You hold out your hand to us and you are pleased when we place our hand in yours and walk with you.  In your hand is power and might, in your hand we find healing, friendship, protection and covering from the storm.

Your mighty right hand is full of power and might. We are holding onto that hand. You said we are one. You infuse your power and might into us. We stand strong in the storm. In the calm, we look to you. You are our song in the night and hear our praises in the sunlight.

You lift us up. You carry us upon your shoulders and as your beloved we are happy and content to be carried there all the day.

You reign. Have your way in our lives. We know your plans for us are good. We know that our life is a combination of experiences, added one at a time at just the right time. We know you have designed and heated the fire just for us.  You are looking for a perfect bride, one without spot or wrinkle and so Lord God, we yield to the fire. We hold onto your hand all the daylong. You have not let go of our hand as we are in our refining crucible. Your hand is shaping us even now.

You are bringing forth fruit that will last for eternity. Without the fire, there is no fruit.

I am thankful for the fire, for the fruit that brings Him glory.

Living Free

There are many things is life that happen to us that we do not understand.  We do not understand them in the midst of the difficulty and in fact we may never understand the reason the adversity comes our way.  We must look to the Word of God and receive our answers there.  When we are confused, bewildered, hurt and full of doubt we are to bring all the resulting questions directly to Jesus.  When we come to Him in faith and true honesty God is pleased with our willingness to come to Him.  He is the One who truly understands us and the difficulty we are in and He will answer us by pointing us to His Word.

As we spend time in His Word, our faith is strengthened, the Light begins to dispel the darkness we have been walking in and our tired hearts are encouraged by His faithful promises.  We choose to change our way of thinking and take firm hold of the comforts from the promises in His Word.  As we choose to trust God in our difficult situations, those things we feel imprisoned and held captive by, God promises to turn that suffering into a blessing and also surprises us by His ability to cause us to bear good fruit as a result.

Praising God keeps anger and bitterness at bay.  Anger isolates us, produces ungodliness in us and eventually can enslave us if we choose to feed it.  Anger smothers love, compassion and forgiveness.

We cannot allow the enemy of our soul to be triumphant in his aim at robbing us of the blessing of God.   Walk in forgiveness and love remembering the grace and love of God that has been poured out upon our lives.

Even as God was with the children of Israel when He lead them out of Egypt so He is with us.  He lead them through the desert and the wilderness and He used those years to test them and to prove their character.  May our characters be refined and defined by steadfast praise to God.  This is our choice and an act of will.

It is the heat of the fire that purifies the gold.  We are not in the fire alone, God is an ever present help with us and He knows exactly to which degree to heat the fire, to temper us, strengthen us and ultimately to bless us.

May we praise Him with body and soul as we walk through the fire of testing, the barren desert  knowing that our integrity and uprightness will keep us as we follow Him through the wilderness.  Being obedient to do what He speaks to our hearts to do, applying and living the written Word of God and in all things giving thanks to God and continually offering to God our sacrifice of praise.

Doesn’t this seem a wonderful way to live ~ free?
