Beckoned by the King

An Intimate View of Psalm 119

Beckoned by the King by Jeannie Pallett

Beckoned by the King is written for the person who longs to enter a deeper, heart to heart relationship with the King of Glory.

Beckoned by the King is a devotional, inspirational  Bible study based on Psalm 119. The truths revealed, and the ones you uncover in this book will apply to every area of your life and walk with God.

Beckoned by the King, based on each Hebrew letter of the alphabet found in Psalm 119, is intended to provoke, challenge and motivate you to a deeper place of intimacy with the King of Glory.

At the end of each section, there are Bible study questions. I know your life will be changed as you assign time to do the study. Mine certainly has!

Allow these eternal words of truth to touch you in the deepest places in your heart and bring you to a place where your heart too, overflows with the same godly theme.  Read them.  Read them slowly, meditate on them, let them tumble around in your head; savor them so you can experience for yourself the unfading richness of God’s Word.

The author of Psalm 119 had a theme that filled his soul, a theme as big as life that ranged the length and breadth and height and depth of a person’s walk with God.  Nothing less than the use of the full power of language would suffice, and of that the alphabet was a most apt symbol.”  This is what the study notes say in the NIV Study Bible about Psalm 119.

What are people saying?

“Jeannie’s journey of discovery has been remarkable. And she tells it in a style all her own – real, heartfelt, gentle, powerful! That is what happens when you’ve heard the voice of the King.  Steve Oboh, Senior Pastor, Christian Life Centre, Fort St John, BC.

“Beckoned by the King is one of the tools our wonderful Savior and Lord Jesus Christ is using to encourage me to seek him for myself in a deeper way than I have in the past. I am learning how to press on and how to rest in him. In my private prayer closet I am learning to be still, to listen to him and allow him to speak to my own heart the things he has to say for my own life in a greater depth.  This book has been revolutionary in my relationship with God, bringing further restoration to my soul.”  From the heart of a reader

“I have known Jeannie since her pursuit of God as a young woman had her writing amazing journals of the Father’s healing and encouragement in her life.  In reconnecting after several years, I have seen the fruit of growth and destiny that the Lord had begun in her years before.   Our North American Christianity and ‘Churchianity’ have often reflected a walk with God on our terms in the name of His Son, Jesus. One might say we have developed the same malaise that Jesus accused the Pharisees of having – “But in vain do they worship me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.” (Matt 15:9 ASV)

I find Jeannie’s bible study questions on Psalm 119 a refreshing, challenging and encouraging invitation.  She invites us to discover a Christianity based on relationship with God on His terms. We come as individuals, learning to lay down our personal idols and discover an exciting relationship in His love that draws us to our created destiny.

It is an invitation to process, to learning to hear God intimately. It is one lamp to His Word, and a serious opportunity to address the longing of every believer – to really hear the Lord speak to them, comfort them, heal them, and tangibly walk with them. I believe that this book and study will afford every serious reader just that opportunity.”      –  The Reverend Henry A. Dunbar, BSc, MDiv. Anglican Minister of Hope Trinity Church in Mackenzie, B.C., A Shared Ministry of three denominations.

Amy Layne Litzelman author of “This Beloved Road”, “I’m not quite finished with your book yet, but I can say that it rings with the poetry that can only come from a heart who knows the love of her Creator and experiences His friendship in a very personal way. Each chapter overflows with scripture that has been refined in the furnace of your life. Your hunger for His presence and truths from His Word line every page and make us more hungry. And your obvious excitement about all of Who He is and getting to know Him even more is the salt we are all called to be.”  Teacher, Author, Worship Leader | Amy Layne Litzelman www.amylaynelitzelman.com

More than “just”a book

“You can hear God’s heart for you in this book. Though easy to read, it needs be read over and over again, almost studied to get the full depth and understanding of God’s heart. In these pages a person will find encouragement, comfort, peace, healing and an even greater desire to draw nearer to God. And more than that an understanding of how much he desires to be close to you. This book is wonderfully and sometimes even poetically written. I would encourage anyone to read it!”  Marcy Williams

Learning to Hear, Feel & Touch the Father’s Heart

“This book so touched my heart over and over it brought me to tears many times. It challenges you to draw closer to Him to depths you have never been to before. A must read, it is written clearly and is very easy to understand, It shows us how love is really unconditional and God just really wants us to draw closer to His heart and get to know Him and to know no matter what, we are so loved by Him. Grab yourself a cup of coffee and sit in your favorite chair, curl up and enjoy and get to know God’s heart like never before.”  Louise Pompetti

From another reader we will leave unnamed

Jeannie, just received your book and card, thank you my sweet, sweet, sister. As I set down to read, I saw myself in your book, as I too had an abortion, and it condemned me so much I couldn’t even see the love of others for me. All I could ever see was hate, and condemnation in everything……..I am going to put this book  (Beckoned by the King) as one of my most favorites in my library of encouragements…….love you so much………God Bless you always

Review from Karen Lyons:

Beckoned by the King
An Intimate View of Psalm 119
written by Jeannie Pallett

I open this book and read the following :
… “Dedicated to all those who long to hear the voice of God and to feel the heart of Him who loves us so…”
“Hear O Israel” I pray that as we the people of God, His beloved, would become like John the Beloved who leaned his head on Jesus’ chest to hear His heart”
JOHN 13:25
This gave me chills and I had to stop and breathe this in…This should and must be every born again Christian’s number one prayer and desire!!! AMEN !?!
I love Jeannie for sharing her personal testimony of Christ Jesus at the beginning of this book…This helps anyone who reads it to know about her personally and gives us more understanding with her walk with Jesus!

  1. In the Preface she explains how and what this book is all about…number one thing is…God’s Holy Word…she puts this first!
“Beckoned by the King is based on each Hebrew letter of the alphabet found in Psalm 119, is intended to provoke, challenge and motivates us readers to a deeper place of intimacy with the King of Glory! She says” Read them, Read them slowly, meditate on them, let them tumble around in your head, savor them so you can experience for yourself the unfading richness of Gods Word…
ANTICIPATION….on the edge of my chair…..At the end of each chapter is a Bible Study named…Get this…”Can you hear HIM?”
What an inspiration on how to begin a Bible Study! Is this not one of the main reasons why we read and study His Wonderful Word!?!

Here is an example of how Jeannie has broken down Psalm 119 with the Hebrew alphabet…
Aleph= literal meaning is “Ox” or “Bull” symbolic meaning is a picture of oxen bloughing..’Strength,leader,first’
Psalm 119:1-8 (KJV) ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

She shares this scripture and then continues with stories from the Word of God and opens your heart and mind to understand and love the scriptures even more, they come alive!!!   Each chapter is an eye opener to God’s Word and I love how the Hebrew alphabet is used, which teaches me even more on how powerful His word is!!!

This book can be used as a daily or weekly reading so His Word will really engulf you which in turn changes you into what He desires you to be…

Jeannie does not try to explain God’s word which is a blessing to me, but she helps you to take the time to really read and study His Word.
I will read this again and again….I highly recommend it to anyone who desires a closer walk with GOD...Jeannie ends it with this sentence…

“May each reader answer the beckoning of the King and walk free in the power of His love”

This is my prayer for ALL of us and her…..May God continue to use you, Jeannie to further His kingdom and His Glory. In Jesus Matchless Name. Amen
