An excerpt from Beckoned by the King (Yodh Psalm 119: 73-80) that expresses the loving tenderness of the Father’s heart as He created us and made plans for us.
Yodh resembles a closed hand or fist clenched to work.
Yodh is the only letter that is suspended in mid air.
Yodh is also the smallest letter and was used as the number ten.
God’s hands communicated his love as he made us, putting every part of us together to function as he saw fit.
As it is true in the natural, so it is in the spirit. His hands have carefully crafted us, placing within us personality traits that, when yielded to the Spirit, would cause us to be fit together for the Master Creator’s use, aptly formed for his purposes and desires.
Even as he knit us together in the wombs of our mothers, so he has knit us with his love to form the Body of Christ. As Jesus is the exact expression of the Father, so is the body to reflect the unity the Son has with the Father.
As individuals within the Body, each of us is to reflect the nature of Jesus. As we yield our minds, emotions and wills and surrender our hands, feet and mouths, we will be filled with a greater measure of the Spirit of God. Our beings will become infused by his mightiness and that which we put our hands to will be fused by the strength and mighty power of God that flows from his hands that are ever resting upon us.
He is ever fashioning our inward, wayward beings to be stayed upon Jesus. As we focus ourselves upon Jesus and wait in his presence, we wait with expectancy to receive, for the Lord himself is waiting for us. He is expecting us, his heart is yearning and looking for us and, in fact, he rises to pour out his mercies upon us morning by morning. Jesus gives to us an abundance of joy and delight when we choose to set our hands to the plow and not look back.
When we choose to do battle against the kingdom of darkness, he promises us the victory because of the finished work of Jesus. His steadfast love comforts us and inspires us to tarry for him and wait for his Word.
We are his perfect workmanship, enclosed and hidden within his mighty hands. There we are kept safe while doing the works he asks of us; security is ours, knowing that the might and power of God shall prevail.
Elohim – Majestic, Glorious Creator.
We are recreated in Christ Jesus to do the works he long ago prepared for us to do. Not only has he prepared the work, but also our hearts and minds, fashioning our whole beings so that we might walk in his works being whole, complete and free lacking no good thing to do that which he sets before us to accomplish.
From the King came these words,
“My plans and purposes for your life shall prevail, and they shall do so because you are in my care and within the enclosure of my hands. My eye is ever upon you and I am continually leading you and guiding you in the way that is right for you. I am ever drawing you closer to my heart.
The nearer you come to laying your head upon my breast, the more you will understand that submission is an act of love, not just a choice that you will to make.
Love yields, love surrenders. Love seeks to obey. Love motivated my creation of you and Love forms my image and nature in you. Love is the greatest gift I have given.
Love has also made the greatest sacrifice, but the result is you, my beloved children, in whom I receive great pleasure.”
Can You Hear Him?
When you encounter various trials and temptations, do you find peace in the Word of God? What has been the result when you thank God in the midst of your afflictions? Have you learned the joy of experiencing the greatness of his compassionate loving kindness in your difficult times?
Can you hear him speak? In the silence, are you willing to wait for him alone?
With you in His palm
The part that stood out to me the most was when you posted on how his plan will prevail. I have noticed in my life when I go down a path I want for my future that road blocks seem to pop up that make it impossible to do what I want. Yet some things I go to do seem to work out just perfectly. I have to keep telling myself that it is the times that things do not work out that those are the things God does not want for me and that He is moving to put me back where he wants me. I love how no matter what I do I always end up where He wants me, not where I may want me.
We have such peace when we are able to settle into the hands of God, Antoinette. As we learn to yield and submit to Him, He loves to shape and mould us into His image.
Beautiful, thanks for posting. This amongst others is a very good phrase “His hands have carefully crafted us, placing within us personality traits that, when yielded to the Spirit, would cause us to be fit together for the Master Creator’s use, aptly formed for his purposes and desires.” The key word: “when yielded to the spirit”. God bless
Thanks Bisi…comforting to know we all are always working on the yielding to the Holy Spirit!
As always, thanks again for your insights into God’s word. I loved the thought “waiting with expectancy…” [hopefulness, breathlessness, eagerness (Roget’s Thesaurus)]…”to receive”.
When I find myself in the midst of trials, I truly find comfort in His Word. I can feel His loving arms around me and I bask in His presence. I try to forget the pain that is engulfing me and choose rather to feel His eternal love. Thanks for a great post. Blessings, Amy
I am sure you have been finding great comfort in His presence lately Amy and I glad you have been able to feel the strength of those everlasting, loving arms around you.
I just read someone the other day say “why are we so suspicious of God’s love?” The truth is that He as done exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or think to prove it. What we really need to do is to learn to trust what He’s already said! Thanks for the post, Jeannie!
A hearty amen! to your words Karen! Thank you!
