How Should We then Live?

November 28, 2017 by Jeannie Pallett Leave a Comment

How should we then live if NOW at this moment we belong to Him and are His children?

1John 3:2-3 Beloved NOW we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be but we know when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope purifies himself just as He is pure.

How should we then live?

We practise.  We read the Word and see Jesus revealed.

We practise living right, thinking right things, speaking words in alignment with His and clothing ourselves in love, gentleness, compassion and truth.

Proverbs 16:3 & 23

Commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established.

The heart of the wise teaches his mouth.

We practise righteousness with repentant hearts, keeping short accounts and being in continual right standing with God as we love Him and love others.

We lay down our lives for others by choosing to live in the light and truth of God’s presence
In the laying down, our lives become conduits of God’s love and blessing and we are free. Free to live within the boundaries of His endless love.

We lay down our lives because we know we cannot pretend to love sincerely and live the way the Father desires. We lay down our lives because we know we cannot love by the strength of our weak flesh.

The strength and power of God in us cannot be ‘hyped up’; to walk and live in His strength and power we yield all of who we are to the Greater One who lives within us.

Now we are like Him…so we have a responsibility to nullify and make void and empty of power over us, those traits of our flesh which so subtly lead us into an area of sin.
Now we are like Him…so we choose to walk in the light learning to live, breathe, and have our being in Him. As He is so are we in this world.

How should we then live?

In our normal, routine, duty-filled lives, the greatest purpose we have is to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our soul and with all our strength. Body, soul and spirit, synchronized and yielding to love our God, abandoned to the Spirit of God and His Word.

How should we then live if we are like Him NOW? By choosing to love the Lord, allowing the Spirit of God who lives within us to empower and enable us to do what the Father asks of us.

Trusting the power of the Spirit will manifest the love and presence of Jesus in us to others.

Yielding to Christ in us the hope of glory; Christ in us who gives us reason to hope that His glorious nature will shine through us.

Father, I come to Your throne bowing my heart, will and body before You. I am here. I am Yours. Lead me, guide me in the way You would have me walk. Help me to hear Holy Spirit speaking to me. God I ask for ears to hear and eyes to see in the Spirit and to look way beyond that which is natural.
Father, I am willing to walk in the way You have prepared and planned for me. I choose to make a change for the positive in the way I think, speak and act. God, I choose love, which is full of a good report, which is why we can speak the positive opposites over the lies of the enemy.
I bless You and thank You for Your hand at work in my heart and soul.
