Blog Hop

Today my blog is part of something bigger than usual. Last week, Troy Lewis invited me to be part of a blog hop called The Next Big Thing. I’m not real familiar with doing a blog hop, but I decided to try it. The truth is, I want to be generous in blessing other authors. The purpose is to help readers discover the next great book or author; i.e., the one they will be compelled to read or the author who’s work they simply can’t put down. Check out Troy’s latest book & blog  http://wwwanothersecondchanceorg.blogspot.com/.  Another Second Chance Holiday Gift Store

What is exciting about this blog hop is the opportunity to learn about authors from various genres & styles. His work might be The Next Big Thing, or perhaps mine is. Who knows?

These are the ten questions we were asked to answer:

What is the working title of your book?  Beckoned by the King~ An Intimate View of Psalm 119

Where did the idea come from for the book?
The Lord spurred intrigue in my heart regarding  how the meaning of the Hebrew alphabet would apply to the verses in Psalm 119 and how and why it applies to our everyday lives.  We co-authored it.  All glory and honor belongs to Him.

What genre does your book fall under?  Devotional/Inspirational/Bible Study

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?  Prince William and Kate!  A man born to be King, a woman destined to become his Bride.  The same way Kate learned the ways of Royalty, so the King has a way for His Bride to live so we are blameless and without spot or wrinkle.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?  Written to inspire readers to become more intimate with God by learning to listen for His voice.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?  This updated edition was Published by Word Alive Press ~ April 2011

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?  Two to three years

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?  Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, Hinds Feet on High Place by H. Smith

Who or What inspired you to write this book?  After learning each letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a symbolic and literal meaning, I set myself apart in a quiet place to hear and write down what the Lord would say to me.  I shared what I had written with my pastor and his wife, recognizing the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they encouraged me to take the manuscript to a publisher.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?  Beckoned by the King will take you on a journey of joy as the heart of the Father is revealed and you connect with the God who has bound himself to his people by his passionate and unquenchable love and desire.  As one reads, prays, listens and records personal insights from the Father it will ignite a deeper passion in the heart to know the deep and intimate things of the Lord.  Beckoned by the King is an expression of the heart of Father God inspiring, strengthening and encouraging believers to move deeper into his presence in spite of life’s obstacles.

Next week take the opportunity to hop on over to the blogs these gals have.  These women have been real blessings to me and have treasure to share with you.
