Birthing of a Bubble

Greater is He who lives in us.  Greater is He above all else in our world.  Greater is He who says we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. I am going to obey Him and testify right here at Psalm 119 Greater than Gold of how great and mighty our God is.  As I learn more of Him and His ways I will share.  I am going to testify and recount all the ways He works on our behalf.

How wonderful it is to be part of the family of God, to have people like you, who are upholding us in prayer when our minds are so jumbled up with information we can barely think straight.

How wonderful it is to be home after a week away attending to medical appointments.  How wonderful it is to walk with a God who is real and allows us to sense His presence.

How wonderful it is to be His.

We belong to our Father in heaven.  He is healer, provider, Great Shepherd, compassionate, gracious, merciful and kind. We are protected by the power of His word.

We have learned from Psalm 103:22 that because we are the works of His hands and have given Him dominion in our lives, our mandate is to bless the Lord.

Situations and circumstances do not change the fact that we have given Him dominion; they are no excuse to not obey.

In the midst of MRI’s, bone scans and specialist appointments we made our decision to bless God and entered into each doing just that.  Was it easy?  NO.

We have been disappointed, Bruce sorely so when he was told by the robotic surgeon that he was high risk for the surgery.  The level of disappointment rose even higher when the Dr. pulled his chair up close and said ‘If you were my relative, I would recommend radiation’.  Not what Bruce wanted to hear. This Dr. is top in his field and Bruce had to respect him as he too is top in his field and when people come to him to ask for advice, well he has seen that he is listened to.

Our next appointment after the MRI was with a radiologist/oncologist.  The name alone was enough to strike fear in my heart.  The clinic though is called the ‘Cross Cancer Institute’.  So at the Cross we met with the ‘rad/onc’ who wrote the papers to set the standards for prostate cancer treatment in the province of Alberta.  At the Cross we found that the MRI is clean.  Thank you for your prayers!

In other words, God put before us a man who is highly revered and respected in the medical society.  He exuded peace and comfort and helped us feel at ease.  He answered every one of Bruce’s questions and asked if he could keep the list of questions in order to use them as a handout for the men who would follow after.

He was frank and honest and we sensed we were right where we were supposed to be.  Except that everything in Bruce still screamed out that he wanted to beat cancer the natural way… my stepdaughter was with us in that appointment taking notes and keeping us on track.  Once again she reminded us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and not to lean back on our own understanding.

Later that night, when all was silent except for the pounding of my heart in my ears, HE spoke.  I wasn’t expecting nor was I listening.  And I actually didn’t hear anything at all except for the quiet dropping of a scripture in my heart.  And I knew HE had shared a word from His heart.

In the morning, for the first time, I awoke to the birthing of a bubble of joy.  I recalled HIS word from the night and knew without a doubt that HE was showing us the way we are to take.

Take a look at the scripture the Lord dropped into my heart!

2Kings 5: 10-14

Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be clean.”

But Naaman was furious and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper.’

“Are not Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

Then his servants came near and spoke to him and said, “My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

So he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean.

We are going to continue to trust in the Lord with all of our heart.  We are going ahead with this direction; we are even now on the road.  I have been able to look back over the past few months and see all the ways in which God has lead us, directed us and protected us.  We expect HIS full provision to be there for us as well.  Bruce has begun a series of hormonal treatment and in a month goes back to the Cross for a planning session.  We anticipate radiation to begin in October if the cancer has not been eradicated by the power of the Blood by then. He will go to the Cross each day for six to eight weeks.

To prepare, Bruce bought me a laptop to keep updates and prayer requests current.  To keep God first and center in this journey, for truly HE is King and Lord of all and we love HIM and bless HIS name forever and ever.

I am so glad that at the Cross all our sin was forgiven and at the Cross all of our diseases were healed.

Hi Jeannie: was just going to ask yesterday how things were going. Thanks for the update. NOW this is exactly what our mission statement at JesusRx is about..Seeking 1st and foremost the Great Physician! You and Bruce are doing that and allowing guidance. There’s no other way to explain “the know that you know” other than for Christ’s leading. You are all being lifted at this time. As the verses stated above, we don’t know how God chooses to heal, if it is through medicine that the “Cross” is providing (both ways), that is where you are to be. Sounds like Bruce is being used to help others with the questions he asked, to help others needing clarity. AMEN, being used in ALL situations.

God works in ways we do not comprehend. When you seek something from Him, he may provide it not as you want but in the way that He knows will bring glory to His name. There are instances in the life of saints when God let them suffer so that in the end He would be exalted in their lives. Job is one great example and in the new Testament we learn of Paul’s ‘thorn in the flesh’. It’s not that God didn’t have the ability to heal, He just chose not to.

In your journey toward attaining the goal you desire, remember that God can heal but only if it’s His will to do so. We don’t know the plans of God but whatever the outcome of the prayers don’t lose faith in Him because He only does what is best for us all in the long run.

Thanks for sharing ,Jeannie. So glad for the provision of such a Dr who is a specialist in his field. I have found it helpful when ,I’m going through a difficult time, to write down all the ways the Lord is providing in the midst of the circumstance-to keep a book of remembrance of His faithfulness to me. May you continue to see and sense the Father’s Presence walking with you and in you-God bless you both with the desires of your hearts.

Thanks for the update, Jeannie. I’m so thrilled that you are surrounded by top-notch people. God gives knowledge to humans, too, and it looks like He is using these professionals to minister to Bruce’s health. That doesn’t mean God can’t or won’t directly heal him — but for now there’s something bigger in view.

Your faith is an inspiration to all of us, and I’m sure, to many more people who are watching you and Bruce during this difficult time.

God is good all the time, radiation or not. You already know this, but it doesn’t hurt to hear it, too :) Bless you, my friend! You’re in my prayers.
